Equine Assisted Learning
Looking for ways to help your child, teen, or young adult build self-confidence, sharpen communication, and step into leadership? Our Equine Assisted Learning program pairs hands-on horse care with the kind of growth that only comes from working alongside horses.
Through grooming, groundwork, and real barn responsibility at our partner farm TRRC in Glenwood, Maryland, participants leave with practical skills — and a positive recreational experience they’ll want to come back to.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Some of the most honest conversations happen without words. Our Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program brings the therapeutic process into the pasture at our partner farm TRRC in Glenwood, working alongside horses to help clients build awareness, regulation, and trust at their own pace.
This program is led by Madison Chase, a licensed clinical social worker specializing in helping individuals grow through life’s challenges — with an approach that is custom-tailored, holistic, and person-centered above all.

Meet the ponies
The true celebrities of the practice! These three aren’t tools but instead full contributors in their sessions. Their sensitive intution and temperment invites engagement and regulation, while their motion demands active brains and muscles!
The baby of the herd, after Knight was born in holding out in the Rockies, this sweet and shy Mustang was discovered to have a clubfoot. At 5 years old he has a lot to learn, training as a mental health pony and exploring being under the saddle for small clients.
Our big, beautiful Fjord! Spirit is 10 years old and is friendly, curious, and a mischievous stinker. He steps up for our biggest hippotherapy clients, and is engaged and social for groundwork.
The matriarch at 22 years old, and backbone emeritus of our hippotherapy programs. Molly is a steady, kind, and loving Haflinger who adores working with littles. Don’t get in the way of her hay cubes though!
Our partner farm
TRRC, the Therapeutic & Recreational Riding Center, was founded by Dr. Helen Tuel and her husband John Tuel, who saw what horses could do for people with special needs. For more than 25 years the center has welcomed riders of every age and ability.
